Poem: Overcoming Childhood Pain

Poem: Overcoming Childhood Pain

On the fragile stage of childhood's past,

A story happens, within a heart so vast.

A father's neglect, a wound so sharp,

Left a baby girl with questions in the dark.

She thought each day, as time slipped away,

Why did other children laugh in a father's display?

Her gaze lingered on faces, in moments so bold,

Fatherly warmth in spaces, where hers felt cold.

Her heart ached mostly at night,

Longing for a father's guiding light.

The emptiness echoed, a cry left unheard,

Stars in the midnight sky bearing witness to the hurt.

"Why, oh why?" she whispered to the moon,

Denied the love that should have been hers too.

Little footsteps marked by an intense ache,

Her soul lost, in turmoil, unable to shake.

Every party, each milestone scene,

A reminder of the void, that space in between.

"Why me?" she questioned, tears concealed,

Feeling unworthy, in a portrait unrevealed.

But time's movement brought revelations near,

Wounds healed within life's tricky sphere.

The girl matured, with resilience at her core,

Seeking love within, needing nothing more.

Through trials faced, strength slowly emerged,

Self-love's truth gradually surged.

Mending her heart, a life's work of art,

From the fractures, a masterpiece would start.

In the mirror's reflection, she found her worth,

A phoenix rising from the ashes of dirt.

Love, she realized, begins from within,

A healing journey, where new stories begin.

No longer confined by a father's departure,

She embraced herself, a self-made sculpture.

The little girl's pain, now a distant view,

For in loving herself, she discovered love true.
